World Cup Qualifier Betting Tips Today
There’s really no shortage of intrigue heading into this one. Both Scotland and Israel have impacted one another’s’ international affairs as of late. In fact, Israel didn’t make it to the Euros as a result of a semi-final loss to Scotland, and the home team didn’t qualify in the Nations League thanks to a goal from Manor Solomon.

This tells us two very important things as we head into this contest between Israel and Scotland. One is that both are going to be itching even more than usual to get three points here. But also, historically, each has struggled to vanquish the other. What does this mean for our betting tips? You’ll have to keep reading in order to find out.
Scotland Embrace International Experience
Let’s start by putting our eyes on the prize. The play-offs look quite possible. Sitting right behind them is Israel, a mere point behind. Euro qualification, and the limited success they had – particularly in their stunning performance against England – has been huge for Scotland. And they’ve showcased their growth since that period with wins over both Moldova and Austria.
They failed to beat Israel in their previous battle, but that was before the emergence of Billy Gilmour and the maturing of the club generally. Goals from Dykes and stunning performances from the likes of Grant Hanley shows how far they have come. But have they come far enough to really put a full stop to this modern feud with Israel?
Israel Excel in High-Scoring Matches
If there’s a simple lesson to be learned from watching Israel in the last few months, it’s to underestimate them at your peril. Sure, they aren’t taking out top teams right now. They were soundly beaten by Denmark 5-0 in their most recent game, and Portugal walked round them in a 4-0 international friendly, but they remain a menace to most.
Their denial of Scotland’s Nations League aspirations was just one example. They’ve since followed that up with immense performances against the likes of Moldova, Faroe Islands and Austria: all of which they won with a minimum of three goals. Israel likes action-packed affairs, and when you look at the likes of Zahavi, Solomon and Dabbur, it’s clear they have the talent to back it up.
Although Scotland and Israel have only ever met a mere five times ever in their illustrious history, many of those games are very relevant to predictions today. For starters, six of them have taken place in the last three years.
Scotland hold the overall advantage – five to two overall – but taking away the games from back in the early to mid 80s, they’re actually all even. Since 2018, Scotland have won two, drew two and Israel have won two. As discussed, their last match went to a draw. Ultimately, we have to give Israel the slight historical edge considering they enjoy the most recent victory: a 1-0 heartbreaker in November 2020.

That’s quite a lot to take in considering there’s not actually a huge amount of games to discuss. Still, it’s better to have a few relevant options than a lot of irrelevant old games. Need more help figuring out the most relevant stats for your betting tips? Check out our statistical highlights.

Our Betting Tip for Today
While we do have an opinion on who will likely win this game, we don’t actually think that represents the best odds here. As we can only pick one betting tip, we’re going with over 2.5 goals scored.
A High-Scoring, Action-Packed Contest
We really did go back-and-forth between two key betting predictions here. And since you can easily merge the both of them if you want, we thought it would be a good idea to mention each. Firstly, we would go with Scotland to win. We just think they have learned so much since the Euros and have so much motivation related to getting to another big tournament that we think they would just about pull off the upset here.
However, what we think is even more likely – and provides even more inviting odds – is the over 2.5 goals market. We could easily see this game surpassing that amount. Just look at Israel’s recent run of super high-scoring matches and back that up with Scotland’s ability to fire back with a hit squad of their own, and an action-packed matchup seems likely to be on the cards.
