However, we aren’t sure it’s going to be as easy in terms of Premier League predictions today as some bookmakers seem to think. West Ham are solid favourites in every mainstream betting market, but have the experts yet again underestimated the power of the Bee’s venom? That’s what our Premier League tips predictions guide looks to find out.
The Hammers Remain an Exciting, Dangerous Side
Our first Premier League predictions are simple: this one has all the ingredients to be an absolute thriller. Just check out West Ham’s seesaw 4-2 opener against Newcastle United or their recent 2-1 victory over Leeds United, which saw a 90-minute goal by Antonio and 35 attempts on goal, for proof.
The Hammers haven’t just been entertaining us: they have, for the most part, also been getting the job done. They even got revenge on their singular Premier League loss against Manchester United with a win in the EFL Cup. Considering all this, we suppose it’s little surprise that most Premier League predictions today back them as heavy favourites.
Sensational Return For Brentford Continues
The problem West Ham have isn’t so much in their weaknesses – although, of course, no team is perfect – but in the admirable strength of their opponents. We’re not sure that Premier League tips betting odds have truly caught up with the idea that Brentford, promoted for the first time in over half a century, are a top level threat this Premier League prediction weekend.
But the proof is all there: the opening win over Arsenal, a breezy 2-0 victory against Wolves, their 7-0 dismantling of Oldham in the EFL cup and taking Liverpool to the limit in a 3-3 showstopper. All of this while they mature and blossom as a team led by the likes of Ivan Toney. With that in mind, perhaps some bookies have been a touch hasty in their Premier League predictions.
This is a bit of an unusual situation. Usually our Premier League prediction weekend is coloured by the past battles between upcoming teams. However, owing to Brentford’s long stint outside of the Premier League, these two haven’t actually faced each other since 1993.
Perhaps there’s a slight psychological edge for West Ham there, considering the Hammers won that particular outing 4-0. But the teams and players involved are too vastly different for it to have any serious practical impact on a match in 2021. The Hammers also have won 22 to Brentford’s 15 since they first met in 1898, so we suppose that gives them the historical edge. Although, in this case, its Premier League predictions impact has been blunted by time.

Our Betting Tip for Today
We disagree with the bookmakers in terms of the Hammers being clear favourites. We could absolutely see this going either way. With that in mind, our betting tip is for over three goals to be scored.
A High-Scoring, Tense Game
Every so often, a game comes along which we view as practically a coin flip in terms of who we think we will win. If we absolutely had to choose, we believe we would go with Brentford off the back of that spectacular performance against Liverpool. However, that’s not a market we can back confidently because both a draw and a West Ham victory are also such strong possibilities. We’re more confident in our belief that the styles of these two means we’re likely to get a reasonably high scoring, exciting game.
With that in mind, we can easily see over three goals being scored in this match. The last two Brentford outings breezed past that number, with six goals alongside Liverpool and seven against Oldham. West Ham are likely going to be dragged into a back-and-forth affair similar to what we saw against Newcastle, which is why over three goals is our recommended prediction for West Ham vs Brentford.
