The match is pretty much going to decide how the group will finish, with Wales needing a win to secure the top spot while the Italians could get there even with a draw. Both teams would want to end the group as leaders to ease up the fixtures in the RO16.
Italy looking for a 30 match unbeaten streak
After failing to qualify for the World Cup in 2018, the Italian team has bounced back hard under manager Roberto Mancini. Their win against Switzerland 3 days ago took their unbeaten streak to 29 matches. To add to this, Mancini’s team have not conceded a single goal in the last ten games, scoring 31 in the process. This ridiculous run of form has put Italy high up in the Euro 2020 prediction list as one of the favourites.
Italy became the first team to qualify for the RO16 with their win against Switzerland and would now like to keep the top spot in the group with a win against Wales.
Bale & Co. sighting top spot in Group A
The Welsh Football team, backed by a brilliant performance from their star player and captain Gareth Bale will be looking to become the first team in 11 matches to break the sturdy Italian defence. The task at hand is demanding but bears a handsome reward.
The team would be looking for nothing less than a victory on Sunday, coming out as group winners ahead of their opponents. That might also be the key to their progression in the tournament in the knockout stages.
Italy have risen from their ruins to run rampant on their road to glory while the Welsh have newfound form keeping them afloat. The two nations have never faced each other in a major tournament before.
The last occasion these two played each other was in a European Qualifier match in 2003, with the score ending 4-0 in favour of the Azzurri. Italy has a massive overall advantage in the head to head with seven wins compared to Wales’s two. However, the Dragons have a much stronger squad this time around with a couple of star names in their line-up, of which the Italians need to be vary.

The Azzurri will hope to capitalize on the binding momentum and secure the three points. But most importantly, they’ll be looking not to concede. The Welsh failing to score would mean Italy goes through as group winners even if they do not trouble the scoresheet.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Given the current form and home advantage, Italy is en route to secure a perfect group stage result. It will not be a high-scoring match, though, as the Italians will focus more on defence, ensuring a draw to keep them in control of Group A.
Italy to top Group A
The Italians are high on confidence and have a strong team, with Locatelli and Insigne in top scoring form. The Azzurri have always been known for their stellar defence, and that has lived up to the expectations so far.
This will be the biggest challenge in the group stage for them as the Welsh team will be motivated by an outstanding performance against Turkey. The Dragons have a strong attack and will undoubtedly be looking to breach the Italian wall.
However, the Euro 2020 prediction tips would suggest that it is going to be Roberto Mancini’s side who take the game away. They are this year’s dark horses, and with the football heritage and passion like the Italians, you know exactly why tens of football pundits are backing them for glory.
Unfortunately, Italy are the bookies’ overwhelming favourite to win the match, and they offer only 1.45 odds for an Italian win. However, considering Italy’s defensive form, an exact scoreline market or an Asian Handicap or even bet builders will be the better betting market for this game. Bet365 offers excellent odds for the exact scoreline market, like the 6.0 odds on a 1-0 Italian win.
