For our Premier League predictions today, we’re focussing on North London as Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur host Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton on Sunday afternoon. Our Premier League tips and betting forecasts are always made with the punter’s interests in mind. Our aim is to help you beat the bookies!
Tottenham to Start Strong
Tottenham have certainly been inconsistent since Mourinho took over in the middle of last season. However once constant has been their ability to start strong, only to sometimes surrender that lead. Our Premier League prediction this weekend points to that pattern continuing. It was thought that Jose Mourinho would’ve looked to make big changes to his squad over the summer, however so far only a handful of low key signings have come in. Their preseason started strongly, as they won their first 3 games, however their final outing was a disappointing 2-1 loss to freshly relegated Watford.
Ancelotti’s Everton Overhaul Begins
Despite losing out on midfield target Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Tottenham, Ancelotti has been fairly busy during the transfer window. Their most notable signing has been Colombian star James Rodriguez from Real Madrid. Everton ended last season in lowly 12th position, in a season that saw manager Marco Silva sacked before Christmas and replaced with Carlo Ancelotti. The Toffees will undoubtedly improve this season, however with not much preparation time, the new signings may need to see the early stages of the season to settle. Our Premier League predictions point to a slow start for Everton on Sunday, but they should come into the game.
These two teams last met at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in July, in a game Spurs managed to hold on for the win thanks to a first half own goal from Michael Keane. Prior to that, the last 2 encounters ended in draws with goals at either end. Perhaps the most notable game between these sides in recent memory came before Christmas in 2018, when Spurs trounced Everton 6-2 in a thrilling encounter. Our Premier League predictions today, however, point to a tightly fought, and more subdued affair with a scoreline more akin to their most recent 3 matches.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed all of the above information, we’re predicting a slender Spurs win on Sunday afternoon, perhaps with goals at either end.
Spurs to Edge to Victory
A lot of the signs, and the previous results, point to a possible draw this Sunday, however we don’t think that will be the case. As has been the mark of Spurs under Jose Mourinho, we can expect them to start strongly, with a first half goal very much a possibility. Everton have been taking their time coming into games, while Tottenham have often lapsed in concentration at times, so a second half Everton equaliser is very likely on the cards. Despite not having a home crowd in the stadium to spur them on, being on their own patch and having strong characters in the dressing rooms should see Spurs over the line. Our betting tip for this week is for Tottenham to win both halves, which you can place on odds of 3 with Bet365. Those looking for a long shot, can back a 2-1 Tottenham win at 9.5.
