For our Premier League predictions today, we’re focussing on the battle of the Portuguese managers, as Wolves host Chelsea in the Midlands on the 27th December. Read on to find out our Premier League tips & predictions for this tasty encounter on Sunday afternoon.
Wolves slide into the bottom half
After beating Chelsea at home in an impressive win, Wolves slumped to an away defeat in Burnley to slide into 11th place. Our Premier League predictions point to a bounce-back for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side though as they are still just 6 points off the top 4 – such is the way of this topsy turvy season. Wolves are still without Raul Jimenez due to a head injury, however Nuno is hopefully youngster Fabio Silva can step up to the plate. The 18 year old Portuguese found the Net late on against Burnley, but Wolves were unable to complete the comeback.
Spurs slip out of top 4
A week is a long time in football, as the cliché goes, and no one has embed this more in recent times than Spurs. Thanks to two losses in 4 days, Spurs went from being table toppers and genuine title contenders to occupy 6th place. They are just 6 points off the top spot however, but are just 5 points ahead of the bottom half of the table. Harry Kane and Son still remain the most formidable duo in the game. If Jose Mourinho can prove the last two games were just a blip, then the Lilywhites can’t be written off as title contenders just yet.
The last meeting between these sides was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium all the way back in March, in front of a capacity crowd. Spurs surrendered a 2-1 half time lead to lose 3-2 to Wolves. However, Tottenham are now stronger, and Wolves slightly weaker, therefore our Premier League predictions for this Sunday’s match are slightly different. Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez were the 2 men responsible for the comeback, neither of whom will play on Sunday. The last 4 games played between the sides since Wolves got promoted show an even spread, as Wolves and Spurs have won two games each.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information, our Premier League predictions today point to a Spurs win on Sunday.
Tottenham to bounce back
Despite not quite being at the level they were at this time last season, Wolves are a tough team to beat under Nuno Espirito Santo. Additionally, they proved against Chelsea that they still have what it takes to see off the big boys at Molineux. That being said, it seems unlikely that Jose Mourinho will allow his side to go 3 games without grabbing 3 points this season, and the personnel he has in the form of Son and Kane should be enough to see off Wolves on Sunday. In the 4 games played since Wolves got promoted in 2018, no one has kept a clean sheet and there’s always been a winner at the end of the 90 minutes. Therefore our betting tip for this match is to back a Spurs win with both teams to score at odds of 4.75 with Bet365.
