For our Premier League predictions today, we’re bringing you a West Midlands Derby and a mid table clash, as Wolves host Aston Villa. A win for either side could be pivotal for their top 6 hopes, so read on for our Premier League tips & predictions.
Wolves to bounce back from Anfield woes
There’s no shame in losing at Anfield these days, however it was the lacklustre performance from Wolves that concerned manager Nuno Espirito Santo following their 4-0 defeat. Most Premier League predictions pointed to a Wolves defeat, but the Wanderers looked beaten before a ball was kicked on Sunday. They were without star striker Raul Jimenez, who will still be unavailable this weekend due to a fractured skull. Aside from Sunday’s Anfield disappointment though, Wolves’ form hasn’t been too bad, as they’ve only lost 2 of their last 8, having managed an away win at Arsenal the week before last.
Has Villa’s bubble burst?
After an electric start that defied all Premier League predictions, has slumped since the end of October. The Villains have lost 4 of their last 5, though they did manage a 3-0 away win at Arsenal in between defeats. They’ve now gone 2 weeks without Premier League action as their scheduled home fixture against Newcastle last weekend was postponed thanks to an outbreak of Covid-19 in their opponents camp. The extra week’s rest could very well work in favour of the men in claret and blue. The only major injury doubt they have ahead of the derby is Ross Barkley.
Last season saw this derby being played in the top flight for the first time since 2012, with Wolves doing the double over their bigger city neighbours. Wolves won this fixture last year 2-1 before sneaking the return fixture 1-0 in June. Villa did, however, win their first meeting last season, as they saw off Wolves n a 2-1 EFL Cup win last October. Wolves won’t likely miss Diogo Jota in this fixture following his departure for Liverpool, as his performances were below par in all three meetings with Villa last season.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information and considered recent form, our Premier League predictions today point to a draw on Saturday.
A Derby Draw in the Midlands
Wolves missing Raul Jiminez and coming into this derby off the back of a heavy defeat and lacklustre performance means they might not be as certain to win as we otherwise might’ve thought. Added to that, despite Villa’s recent slump in form, they have most of their key squad players fit and have the advantage of a two week rest. Villa will also be motivated by the fact that a win could see them leapfrog their rivals in the table with 2 games in hand. All in all, we’re predicting things to balance out and therefore would normally back a draw at odds of 3.4. However, with a derby in 2020 you can never be too sure, and 2 goals exact is offered at the same odds of 3.4 with Bet365. We’d back that option as it covers more potential outcomes for the same odds as a draw.
