For our Premier League predictions today we’re focussing on what could be a title party on Teesside, as Newcastle host Champions-elect Manchester City. The title could be confirmed by the time this fixture rolls around, but we’ve provided our Premier League tips, betting info and the best odds below.
The Newcastle Resurgence Continues
Just two short months ago, Newcastle were written off as regulation candidates in the eyes of most Premier League predictions. Fast Forward to now, and Steve Bruce has really turned things around, with Newcastle safe and aiming for a solid mid table finish. The latest in their recent run of impressive results came in last Friday’s 4-2 away win against top four challengers Leicester. During the harder times, Steve Bruce implored fans and pundits to wait until they got their attacking players back. ANd how right he was, with Calum WIlson firing since his return.
City Made to Wait for the Title
Thanks in part to Sergio Aguero’s embarrassing panenka penalty attempt, Manchester City are still waiting to be confirmed champions. City need just two points to be confirmed Champions, and could grab them without kicking a ball if neighbours Man United drop any points in their two midweek games against Leicester and Liverpool. Guardiola has continued to heavily rotate his squad as he has done all season, therefore regardless of whether or not they are already champions come Friday, we can expect to see a different side than the one that lost against Chelsea on Saturday.
Pep’s Manchester City side have won each of the last three of their games vs Newcastle in all competitions, scoring nine without reply in the process. You don’t have to go too far back to fin the last time the Magpies pulled off a shock win though. Back in January 2019, Newcastl dished out a rare defeat for the would-be champions that season. DO our Premier League predictions see Steve Bruce and Newcaslte beating their second top four upset in a row? Unlikely, but you can never write anything off at this stage in any given Premier League season.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having anaylsed the above information, our Premier League predictions today suggest a Man City win on Friday night.
Man City to Confirm Title
Manchester City could already be Premier League champions by the time this game rolls around. That might influence the squad that Pep Guardiola puts out, but it shouldn’t change the overall outcome of the game. Newcastle, who are now safe, should play without fear and will have a real go here. The Magpies have scored five of their last six games, having won three and drawn two of those games. Manchester City on the other hand have conceded in seven of their last ten in all competitions, and will likely rest a couple of their key defensive players. We can therefore see Newcastle getting a goal, most likely via Calum Wilson, but definitely don’t see them pulling off the shock win. Our betting tip for this fixture is to back a Manchester City win plus both teams to score at odds of 2.88 with Bet365.
