Considering the Magpies currently sit perched at number 19 upon a single point, you may think not many Premier League predictions today would be going their way. They led twice against West Ham, were even better against Aston Villa in terms of quality football, and took Southampton to the limit. Leeds Inconsistencies Puts the Pressure On
Although they’re doing a little bit better in the standings, we actually think – and this will impact our Premier League prediction weekend final analysis – that Leeds will be feeling the pressure that bit more. They only returned to the Premier League last season and defied all Premier League tips predictions that season.
So far, this is more of what people expected. They lost to Liverpool, and lost to Manchester United handily, while they beat similar caliber teams mere months ago. Still, it’s not all doom and gloom. They managed to fight back against Everton and Burnley, securing a point in the dying moments of each. But do they have the consistency to be our pick for Premier League prediction today?
When it comes to relevance for this Premier League prediction weekend, only the most recent games truly matter. It may be of historical interest that Leeds United vs Newcastle took place in the League Division One in 1924, for instance, but it will have little bearing here. Therefore, the games that really matter the most are the last two.
This saw them both in a similar enough position for relevant comparison, and Leeds United walked away the winner of both of them. They bested Newcastle 2-1 in January and 5-2 the month before that. Before that, we’re back in the Championship and from there, Newcastle are overwhelmingly dominant. But no results are as relevant to our Premier League predictions today as those which took place last season.

This has been one of our hardest Premier League predictions so far. Truly, we could see this game going either way, but don’t necessarily see it settling at a draw. Therefore, our tip for today is to go with both teams to score.
When a match is too close to call, then it’s always a good idea to venture beyond simple to win markets for your Premier League prediction weekend. We went with both teams to score because the recent head-to-head clashes just about balanced out with Newcastle when you compare recent performances. And, of course, the Magpies have a home field advantage.
The reason we’re not going for a draw is simple: we do think it’s likely you’ll see a winner in this contest. We’re just not totally convinced of an argument either way. It’s a coin flip, in our opinion. Absolutely pushed to give an answer, we’d go with Leeds. However, we think the best betting tip we can give is for both teams to score because that’s what the occasion, form and past results suggest.
