For our Premier League predictions today, we’re focussing at Old Trafford, where Manchester United host Wolves as they look to edge closer to the summit of the English top flight. Can they do it? Read on to find out our Premier League tips & predictions for this match!
United closing in at the top of the table
After their Boxing Day stalemate with Leicester, Manchester United sit 4th in the Premier League, just a single point above their neighbours Man City. Both of the Manchester sides have a game in hand of the rest of the top 4, meaning wins could make them make serious ground on Liverpool at the top. Despite questions being asked of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, United have managed to find form in the Premier League, as they are now undefeated in 8 Premier League games. They have also managed to remain relatively injury free compared to some of their top 4 rivals.
Wolves aren’t looking quite as sharp as they have in their first two top flight season, during which they defied most Premier League predictions to finish impressively. They currently sit in 11th, and play Spurs on Sunday night before the clash with United, so could potentially slip further down the table. Despite slipping into the bottom half of the table, Wolves are still closer to the top spot than the bottom, so a top 6 finish remains a realistic possibility. Wolves are still without Raul Jimenez due to a cracked skull he sustained in a clashing of heads with Arsenal’s David Luiz earlier this month.
Perhaps surprisingly, United’s record against Wolves hasn’t been great recently. Since Wolves got promoted in 2018, United haven’t managed to beat them at Old Trafford in the league, Their last meeting back in January ended in a 0-0 draw. Prior to that, United did get the better of Wolves over two legs in an FA Cup tie, following a drab 0-0 at Molineux with a slender 1-0 win at Old Trafford. This is the first post Covid-19 era meeting between the sides so past results may have little influence on our Premier League predictions for the up coming fixture.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information our Premier League predictions today suggest a slender United win on Tuesday.
United to continue quest for the summit
If you look at past Premier League results, then you could be forgiven for thinking that a United slip up could be on the Cards and on Tuesday. However, recent form suggests otherwise. Wolves have lost 3 of their last 4 while United are unbeaten in 8 in the league. Additionally, and perhaps somewhat unfairly, is that United have much more time to prepare for the match. They played Leicester on Boxing Day lunch time, while Wolves play Spurs in the evening kick-off on the 27th, giving them, giving United a turn around that’s a day and a half longer. This, twinned with their better personnel and squad depth should see United over the line. United aren’t rock solid at the back though, and Wolves have proven they can score even in Raul Jiminez’s absence. Therefore our betting tip for this one is an away win + both teams to score at 3.6 with Bet365.
