For our Premier League predictions today, we’re focussing on the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford, where both the Red and Blue sides of Manchester are looking to break into the top 4 this weekend. Expert Premier League tips & predictions to follow.
United look to bounce back from Champions League slump
After a strong start to the group, Manchester United slumped out of the Champions League on Tuesday night thanks to a horrific first 20 minutes which saw them go 2-0 down. The Red Devils then conceded a 3rd in the second half before bagging 2 goals in 2 minutes to revive vain hopes of a comeback that was never completed. The Paul Pogba problem was once again on show, as his agent Mino Raiola Tweeted ahead of the game saying regarding his client’s unhappiness at the club. After Champions League woes, how do our Premier League predictions look for United?
Is City’s Season back on Track?
Manchester City’s Wednesday night win against Marseille saw them top their group with 5 wins in 6 games. In the Premier League they have won both their games convincingly since their 2-0 defeat to Spurs last month. However, they have yet to beat a top 6 side this season (unless you count Arsenal). Pep Guardiola does seem to have stamped out the defensive mistakes that plagued his side early on in the Premier League season and has some of his attacking players banging them in once again. The real missing piece from the Man City puzzle is a long term replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Manchester United completed a League double over their city rivals last season, winning 2-1 at the Etihad and 2-0 home at Old Trafford. Man, City, however got the better of United over 2 legs in the EFL Cup, winning 3-1 at old Trafford before seeing the tie off with a 1-0 loss at home. All 4 meetings last season were played pre-lockdown, meaning they were played in front of a stadium full of fans. Given that Manchester is still in tier 3 restrictions, this will be the first Manchester Derby to be played in an empty stadium.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information, we’re our Premier League predictions today back a Manchester United win.
United to bounce back from crisis yet again
Manchester United have certainly been inconsistent since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge back in early 2019. However, one thing they have consistently done is bounce back from adversity, especially when the media begin to speculate about their managers job. Moreover, Solskjaer has won 3 of his 5 meetings with Pep Guardiola in the Manchester Derby. Despite City looking stronger and in better form, our Premier League predictions point to a Red win on Saturday. It could be fair to say we’re admittedly not 100% behind this prediction, especially this season, but the value being offered on the bookies by Manchester United is simply too good to ignore. With Bet365 offering odds of 4.33 on a Manchester United side that have better league form and a better head to head record, how can we not recommend it as our tip for this match?
