Still, being out of all other competitions has meant that Liverpool have been given eight days to prepare for this game – which could be the deciding factor.

These old rivals had a double header back in January, as they drew 0-0 at Anfield in the League before meeting in the FA Cup a week later, when Man United won 3-2. In the Premier League, it’s been a fixture that has underwhelmed in recent meetings, with three of the last four meetings ending in fairly drab draws.
