For our Premier League predictions today, we’re focussing on biggest rivalry in the country, as Manchester United host Liverpool at Old Trafford. It’s been a tight fixture in recent seasons, and our Premier League tips, predictions and odds follow on for you below.
United Looking to Spoil City’s Party
Our Premier League predictions have the title firmly out of United’s reach, but second place looks to be nailed down for Ole and the boys They go into this Sunday’s match knowing that a win could delay City’s title party and put a huge dent in Liverpool’s top four hopes. However, they do have the small matter of hosting Roma in the first leg of their Europa League semi final on Thursday night. This could result in some tired legs for United come Sunday.
Top Four Still Within Reach for the Reds
Despite back to back draws against Leeds and Newcastle, Klopp’s men still have the top four within reach, which is vital to salvage something from an extremely disappointing season. A number fo things have gone wrong for the Reds this season – Mane’s been off the pace, TAA and Roberston haven’t lived upto the heights of last season and defensive injuries have at times proved critical. Still, being out of all other competitions has meant that Liverpool have been given eight days to prepare for this game – which could be the deciding factor.
These old rivals had a double header back in January, as they drew 0-0 at Anfield in the League before meeting in the FA Cup a week later, when Man United won 3-2. In the Premier League, it’s been a fixture that has underwhelmed in recent meetings, with three of the last four meetings ending in fairly drab draws. Our Premier League predictions forsee the draw trend ending this Sunday though. United could settle for a Draw but Liverpool really need to go for it if they want to make ground on the top four.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information, our Premier League predictions today suggest a Liverpool win on Sunday
Reds to Rally Late for Top Four Finish
Perhaps surprisingly, Liverpool are actually slight favourites with the bookies going into this weekend’s fixture. If you look at the facts though it does make some sense. Liverpool are going into this off the back of two disappointing draws, while United had been on a good run prior to last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Leeds.
Could we see yet another draw and underwhelming fixture? Not likely – United could settle for a draw as it would keep their second place relatively safe and delay City’s title party. Liverpool on the other hand, surely have to go for it to have any chance of being in the top four come the end of the season. Added to that, they will have had more than double the preparation time of United. Our betting tip is therefore a straight away win at odds of 2.5 with Bet365.
