For our Premier League predictions today, we’re focussing on what in recent seasons has become the biggest fixture on the calendar. Manchester City host Liverpool at a stadium that can now quite literally the ‘Emptyhad’. Our expert Premier League tips & predictions are to follow.
Manchester City slowly gathering steam
After a bad start to the season that was characterised by a 5-2 home humbling at the hands of Leicester, Pep’s City side are slowly building up a run of form. They are undefeated in all competitions since the defeat to the Foxes, and what’s more, they have conceded just 4 goals in the 8 games since they conceded 5 in one afternoon. The defence has undoubtedly been strengthened by the signing Ruben Dias, however City’s Champions League performances have been far more convincing than their domestic ones. Draws against West Ham and Leeds have been complimented by two slender 1-0 victories.
Liverpool return to the top
After their 2-1 win over West Ham last weekend, Liverpool have returned to the top of the table. And after a 5-0 trouncing of Atalanta in the Champions League, the 7-2 humiliation at Aston Villa now seems but a distant memory. Jurgen Klopp has found himself a new star man in the form of Diogo Jota, who has scored 7 goals in 8 matches for the Reds. Liverpool will be all to aware that this is their biggest challenge of the season so far, however as most Premier League predictions experts called these two as the title challengers ahead of the season.
Over the two meetings last season, Liverpool won the game that mattered in November, as their 3-1 win at Anfield convinced most Premier League predictions experts that the title was over there and then. Post lockdown, City were the first team to play Liverpool as newly crowned Champions. The Citizens gave the Reds a guard of honour before going on to humble their visitors with a 4-0 victory. A cracking Man City performance no doubt, but it will have little bearing on this weekends competitive fixture given that the majority of Liverpool’s starting 11 that day were probably still over the drink driving limit.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having considered the above information, we’re going for a narrow away in at the Etihad for our Premier League predictions today.
The Reds to edge out as winners
It didn’t look like it a few weeks back, but this tie now has the box office grandeur most of us would’ve expected it to at the start of the season. And going into this match, there’s little separating these sides. Both have been at the top of English football for the last few seasons, and yet both of them have already suffered a humiliating defeat in the early throws of this campaign. Both sides have bounced back to form somewhat, however neither side has won by more than a single goal in the league. Liverpool have arguably been the more convincing, however, as their draw against Everton should’ve been a win if not for VAR, while both of City’s 1-1 draws were deserved scorelines. We’re therefor predicting 3 goals exact at odds of 4 with Bet365, and see it taking the form of a 2-1 scoreline, most likely to the Reds.
