For our Premier League predictions today we’re focussing on a bit of high profile midweek madness as Liverpool host Spurs at Anfield. Read on to find out Premier League tips, predictions and more regarding this top of the table clash between two sides joint on points.
Liverpool miss chance to go top
After Tottenham conceded late on to draw with Crystal Palace earlier on Sunday, Liverpool went into their late afternoon match away at Fulham knowing a win could see them return to the top. However, after conceding in the first half, Liverpool could only manage to draw level via a late Mo Salah penalty. The Reds were dealt yet another injury blow ahead of the game on Sunday as new super signing Diogo Jota is set to be sidelined for at least 6 weeks. That being said, Liverpool still have their regular formidable front 3 fully fit.
Tottenham stay top by the skin of their teeth
Like their hosts, Spurs drew on Sunday away at Crystal Palace. Having played in the earlier fixture, Jose Mourinho had surely conceded that he’d being going to Anfield two points behind the Reds, however thanks to them slipping up at Fulham, Tottenham go into the Anfield fixture top of the table, but level on points with Liverpool. Despite some well managed and pragmatic performances, Sunday was a sign that these SPurs players aren’t completely in the habit of conducting Mourinho’s game management tactics to perfection. Harry Kane and Son though, remain the best strike partnership in the league by a distance.
Tottenham are without a win against Liverpool in 6 games, a run that takes us all the way back to October 2017. Given Liverpool’s own unbeaten record at Anfield in the league, which goes back to April 2017, our Premier League predictions can’t see Spurs breaking this spell on Wednesday. The last time Tottenham won at Anfield, was all the way back in 2011. From Mourinho’s time at Manchester United, we can see that he knows how to not lose against Liverpool, as he drew 3 of his 5 meetings with the Reds during his spell at Old Trafford, winning one and losing one.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information, our Premier League predictions today point to a stalemate at Anfield on Wednesday.
Mourinho’s pragmatism to cancel out Klopp’s firepower
When these sides met back in January, Mourinho had only recently taken charge of an already struggling Spurs side with a growing injury list. Still Tottenham managed to lose narrowly at home to Klopp’s Liverpool. There’s no doubt that Spurs have improved immensely since then, and in recent game have proved they can manage games and see them the Mourinho way – Sunday not withstanding. Klopp will most likely go for it and try to break Spurs down, but Mourinho will send out a compact Spurs side with a solid game plan, with the hope of Kane and Son being deadly on the counter attack. Our Premier League predictions are therefore to back a draw of some form, with or without goals – Spurs have played out a 0-0 against Chelsea already. Therefore, our official betting tip is a draw at 3.8 with bet365.
