For our Premier League predictions today we’re looking to the Northwest, where Champions Liverpool host bitter rivals and new table-toppers Manchester United. A fixture that has lost it’s pedigree in recent seasons is now back at the top – our Premier League tips & predictions follow below.
Man United top the table for the first time since Fergie
For the first time since Fergie’s last season in 2013, United find themselves at the summit of the Premier League table thanks to 1-0 away win on a frosty night in Burnley. Given that this time last year the Red Devils lost to Burnley and were 30 points behind Liverpool, it’s fair to say they’ve defied many experts’ Premier League predictions this season. Their only testy game of late, however was their EFL Cup semi final against Manchester City, which they lost 2-0, which may halt their confidence going into such a big game.
Liverpool seeking bounce back from festive stumble
Liverpool had looked to be back in title winning form in November and December, however a tricky trio of matches as the end of the festive period, which saw two draws followed by a loss to Southampton is what allowed Manchester United to take their place at the top of the table. They did knock Aston Villa out of the FA Cup, however their needed fairly strong side and still went behind against a team of Villa youngsters as the Clarets were hit by a covid outbreak. They still have their Anfield record on their side going into this match though.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still without a win over Liverpool as Manchester United manager with his only trip to Anfield thus far ending in a 2-0 loss that all but confirmed Liverpool as Champions. A year on and many Premier League predictions have been blown out the window all over the place so the tide could be about to turn. Jurgen Klopp has only lost to United once at Anfield, almost 5 years ago tot he day back at the start of his tenure. All in all, it’s Liverpool’s Anfield record that should protect them.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information, our Premier League predictions today point to a draw this Sunday
Two solid records to cancel each other out
A draw is always a disappointing result to predict for such a blockbuster fixture, but when you take a closer look at things, it’s the most likely outcome. Principally, this beauce you have two impressive records that cancel each other out. On the one hand you have the fact that United have gained an impressive 22 points from 8 away games this, while on the other you have Liverpool’s unbeaten record at Anfield dating back to April 2017. Of course Liverpool’s is far more impressive and, had they been in better form we would’ve tipped the Anfield fortress twinned with their big game experience to see the Reds come out on top. Added to that, United have drawn with 3 of their top 4 rivals this season – Chelsea, City & Leicester. That’s why we’re backing a draw with Bet365 at 3.8.
