Fortunately, they’ve managed to do just that, recording back-to-back away wins in London against Spurs and West Ham. Other good news for the Reds arrived on transfer deadline day, with deals for ben Davies and Kabak both making it over the line to plug the defensive gaps. A bolstered defense could allow Henderson and Fabinho to return to midfield, while also allowing Trent and Robbo the freedom to roam forward.

City’s winning run is now getting so long we’ve almost lost count – with it dating back to November. What will make Pep happy is the variety of ways in which is side have won. From dishing out 5-0 thrashings, to coming from behind to win and seeing out the tough 1-0 slogs, they’ve done it all in recent weeks. What’s perhaps more frightening is that Kevin de Bruyne has yet to hit the heights we know he can and critics are still pointing to their lack of a target man striker.
