For our Premier League predictions today, we’re focussing on the North West, as the the blue of Merseyside hosts the blue side of Manchester. Everton could go into the game 3 point above their visitors, so read on to see what our Premier League tips & predictions think for this one.
Everton revitalise to renter top 4
The Toffees got off to a blistering start to the season under Carlo Anccelotti, define most Premier League predictions. However, they then hit a slump, losing 3 games in a row to slide down the table. Since then, they’ve managed to put together a 4 match unbeaten run in the Premier League, which includes 3 wins on the bounce. This could very likely be 4 by the time this match rolls around as they play bottom place Sheffield United on Boxing Day. James absence is still causing problems though, as was evident in their EFL Cup loss to Manchester United.
Since their defeat to Jose Mourinho’s Spurs on November 20th, Manchester City have gone on a 9 Match unbeaten run in all competitions – qualifying for the Champions League last 16 and securing a place in the EFL Cup semi-finals in the process. Only Liverpool have lost less games than Pep Guardiol’s side, but it’s the 5 draws that have been City’s undoing thus far. That, and failing to beat any of their top 4 chasing rivals. The Citizens lost to Leicester and Spurs, managing to draw against Liverpool and Manchester United. They beat Arsenal, but that won’t make the end of season DVD.
As most would perhaps expect, this fixture has been all Manchester City in recent years. The Citizens are undefeated in their last 6 against the Toffees, having won their last 5 in a row. Everton’s last victory against City was back in January 2017, when they thrashed City 4-0 at Goodison Park – their only victory over a Guardiola city side to date. Their last meeting was in January 2020, so this will be the first time this fixture has been played in front of an empty stadium. Do our Premier League predictions experts think Everton can turn the tide?

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information, our Premier League predictions today point to a Manchester City win at Goodison.
Manchester City to break into top 4
Despite winning their last 3, potentially 4, Premier League games, Everton haven’t been as free scoring since they lost the creativity of James Rodriguez. Likewise, Manchester City haven’t been as free scoring in the premier League since they put 5 past Burnley back in mid November. Their 4-1 cup win over Arsenal could have spelled a change in the tide, but a 3-0 win Champions League win over Marseille was followed by a run of 3 Premier League games, in which City only managed to score twice. Given their recent record though, Pep’s side should manage to the better of the Toffees in this match. Despite Everton’s lack of creativity, Everton have scored in 7 of their last 8 Premier League games, and scored once in each of their games against City last season. Our Betting tip is therefore a City win + both teams to score at odds of 3 with Bet365.
