For our Premier League predictions today, we’re focussing on the Monday night London Derby, as dipping Chelsea host surprise package West Ham. Can Lampard’s side bounce back from their recent slump, or will Moyes’ boys push on? Read our Premier League tips & predictions to find out!
Just as they looked to have found some consistency and established themselves as genuine title contenders, Chelsea have hit a bump in the road. Their last two fixtures have been on the road and have ended in losses to Everton and Wolves. Lampard’s men do still have their home form to cling to, so perhaps a return to stamford bridge could influence our Premier League predictions for this match. In their 2-1 loss to Wolves, Kai Havertz garnered most of the media attention for his poor performances, which may put pressure on Frank Lampard to drop the German youngster.
West Ham continue to impress
David Moyes’ West Ham have been the surprise package so far this season, defying most Premier League predictions from the start of the season. The Irons have won 4 of their last 6 games and go into this game just a single point behind their hosts from across the city. Aside from a 3-0 away win at Leicester back in October, West Ham have yet to take a major scalp this season though, but meeting an out form Chelsea could be just the fixture needed to change that. Pablo Fornals looks set to be dropped after a poor display against Palace midweek.
It may come as a surprise to some, but West Ham have had the better of this fixture in recent times. They done the double over Chelsea last season , winning 1-0 away before coming on on top with a thrilling 3-2 win at the London Stadium. Overall, West Ham have won 3 of their last 6 league games against Chelsea, having drawn 2, with Chelsea claiming just 1 win over the hammers – a 2-0 home win back in April 2019. Chelsea might be looking towards there home form as means of bouncing back for this slump, but their record against the Irons doesn’t inspire confidence.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information, our Premier League predictions today suggest and away win on Monday
West Ham to leapfrog the Blues
Given the apparent gap in quality between these two sides on paper, our tip for this week may appear to be somewhat surprising. However, if you look at last season’s results and recent form, then backing a West Ham victory become a lot more logical. London’s return to tier 3 restrictions also means that Chelsea won’t have any fans to cheer them on as they return to Stamford Bridge. Had been another so-called ‘lesser opponent’, we might’ve backed Chelsea to return to form, but there’s something about West Ham this season that tells as they can make it a hattrick of wins against Chelsea on the bounce, and with the bookies offering such generous odds, it’s just too hard to resist. That’s why our top betting tip for this Monday night derby is to back a straightforward, no frills away win for West Ham at odds of 6.25 with Bet365.
