For our Premier League predictions today, we’re looking at the blockbuster fixture of the weekend, as Chelsea host table topping Spurs in a feisty London derby. As Lampard prepares to face his former mentor once again, read on to find our Premier League tips, predictions & more!
Chelsea find their feet
After a shaking start, Chelsea have hit a solid run of form under Frank Lampard, having notched up a run of 6 wins on the bounce following their disappointing duo of 0-0 draws back in October. Kai Havertz and Timo Werner have settled into the squad and become the players most Premier League predictions foresaw. Even old mercenaries like Oliver Giroud have been playing their part recently. What Critics would argue, however is that the Blues have yet to defeat any team of formidable stature, so Sunday’s test against Spurs provides Lampard and his boys with a stage on which to prove the doubters wrong.
Spurs look to cement their place as title favourites
Following their win against Manchester City last Saturday, Tottenham went top of the table and look to have firmly thrown their name in the hat as potential title contenders. After 12 months in the job, Jose Moutinho looks to have finally found a way to balance his pragmatic game management whilst efficiently using the attacking talents he has including Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. Not too long ago, it had looked like a lack of discipline would be the undoing of this Spurs side, as they threw away a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with West Ham just 6 weeks ago.
Frank Lampard pulled off a league double over his former coach and mentor last season. Although this is their first Premier League meeting of this season, the two side did meet in the EFL Cup back in September. The game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes, with Spurs going through on Penalties. Frank Lampard’s managerial success against Jose Mourinho extends beyond either of their days with their current sides, as Lampard’s Derby pulled of a shock FA Cup win over Mourinho’s Manchester United on penalties back in 2018. Our Premier League predictions for this game suggest Mourinho will be hungry for the win.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information and having considered recent form, our Premier League predictions today suggest a Spurs win on Sunday.
Spurs to keep marching on
Spurs have lost their last 3 Premier League games in a row against Spurs, with 2 of those being under Jose Mourinho’s tenure. It may then come as no surprise that Chelsea go into this match as favourites, especially given their recent run of form under Frank Lampard. However, Chelsea have yet to beat a top 6 team, whereas Spurs come into this one following an impressive win over Manchester City and having thrashed their neighbours 6-1 at Old Trafford. The only thing that doesn’t bode well for Mourinho’s team is preparation time. Chelsea played their Champions League game on Tuesday night, while Spurs have a Thursday night Europa League game. However, they should get through that with a second string squad. We’re therefore going against the bookies and tipping a Spurs win at odds of 3.6 with Bet365.
