For our Premier League predictions today, we’re focussing a Northeast vs Northwest battle, as Burnley host Newcastle at Turf Moor. A win for either side could go some way to secure their safety from relegation. Our Premier League tips, betting info and more follows on below.
The Turf Moor Fortress Keeps Burnley Safe
Despite being undefeated at Turf Moor since February 3, which saw an understandable home defeat to Manchester City, Burnley aren’t quite safe from relegation. They sit in 15th place, just seven points from safety. However, our Premier League predictions suggest they should be safe. Were it not for too many draws and surrendering a 2-0 lead to Southampton last weekend, Burnley could already have reached that coveted 40 points mark. Manager Sean Dyche is also confident his side will stay up, coming out publicly to back the confidence and mentality of his players.
Newcastle’s Premier League predictions didn’t look good going into last weekend. They were sorely missing Callum Wilson, there was a bust up involving Matt Ritichie and there were strong rumours that manager Steve Bruce had lost the dressing room. However the squad put in a shift on Sunday to come from behind to grab a much needed draw against Spurs. They are still just one place above the drop zone, however with a three point gap and a game in hand over Fulham, they’re in a better position than they could’ve been.
Pretty even spread in the head to head record here, with the last three games showing an even split of one Newcastle win, one draw and on Burley win. Newcastle won the last meeting 3-1 back in October at St. James’, in what is their joint best victory this season. Newcastle have gone on to struggle since then though, while Burnley have built up some form of resilience. The last meeting at Turf Moor took place back in December last year, meaning this will be the first fanless meeting between the sides inside Burnley’s home ground.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information, our Premier League predictions today point to a Burnley win this Sunday lunchtime.
Burnley to Maintain the Turf Moor Fortress
Newcastle were spirited in their draw against Spurs, but we shouldn’t let that distract us from the fact that this is a side without a win in seven coming to a place that’s notoriously tough to get a result at.
Burnley have been conceding goals lately, however Newcastle, aside from last weekend’s outing, appear to lack fire power. Additionally, Burnley have shutout Newcastle in two of their last three fixtures. Burnley looked sharp when they went two goals up against Southampton, and Sean Dyche will want his team to bounce back from that capitulation.
Our betting tips for this match is to back a Burnley win to nil, which you can back at odds of 3.4 with Bet365. The last two times Newcastle have scored in a game, they’ve failed to do so in the following one. That’s a pattern we expect to continue.
