This Sunday’s game will be the 3rd time Jose Mourinho has come up against his previous employers since joining Spurs last year. Our team of experts have analysed the facts, the figures and more to create our Premier League predictions today. Read on to find our Premier League tips, predictions & more.
Slow Start for United
Manchester United started their Premier League campaign later than most, thanks to their European ventures in August. They opened their Premier League account with a disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace. The followed this up with an extremely lucky away win against Brighton, thanks to a penalty that was actually given by VAR for handball after the full time whistle. The slow start may be in part down to their lack of preseason, however our Premier League predictions for United don’t look great this season. The only player truly worthy of praise in the squad is midfield marvel Bruno Fernandes.
Spurs face heavy schedule
While United benefited from VAR and the new handball rule at the weekend, Tottenham fell foul to its ridiculousness. In a horrendous last minute call, Newcastle were handed a last minute to penalty to earn a point. Although luck was against them, Spurs do have themselves to blame for not being out of sight before the penalty. Despite dominating the game, Mourinho’s side were not clinical enough in front of goal. Spurs followed up this disappointment by seeing off Chelsea on penalties in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night. Additionally, Spurs have a Thursday night Europa League tie ahead of this game.
Jose Mourinho lost this fixture 2-1 last season shortly after taking charge at Spurs, before drawing the reverse fixture 1-1 at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The key takeaway from both of these games is that there isn’t much separating these sides and they tend to keep the scoreline low. Therefore, our Premier League predictions today point to a tight game on Sunday. Even going back to the Potchettino era, the scorelines between these two teams tended to be tight. With the sole exception of a 3-0 Spurs away win in 2018 against a United team then managed by Jose Mourinho.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information, our premier League predictions for this weekend point to a draw on Sunday afternoon.
A point a piece in store at Old Trafford
Sunday’s fixture is a tough one to call. While Spurs look like a slightly stronger team this season, their fixture list this week has bordered on the ridiculous as they play on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Although Mourinho will rotate his squad, this will undoubtedly lead to fatigue and possible injuries. Therefore, we’re predicting that this will cancel out the Spurs advantage, though not enough for United to secure the win. We’re there for predicting a repeat of July’s fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and going for a score draw in Manchester on Sunday. You can place this with Bet365 on odds of 4.75. Should more VAR handball penalty controversy follow this weekend, we’d back a Bruno Fernandes penalty as a side bet. For Spurs goals, the usual suspects of Harry Kane and Son (if he’s fit) are always a good shout.
