As the newly restarted Barclay’s premier League enters its 2nd week of fanless football, champions-elect Liverpool host Crystal Palace as they hope to take a huge step towards their inevitable title. Palace are a side that have been known to take points off the top 6 in the past, so this won’t be an easy outing for the Reds.

We’ve taken a look at everything surrounding this match plus the stats and past meetings to come up with our betting tips for this one. A win for the Reds could potentially set the stage for them to win the title at the Etihad next Thursday.
Liverpool still 2 wins from the title
The Reds had a slow start to season’s resumption on Sunday, as they were held to yet another 0-0 draw by local rivals Everton at Goodison. The lack of goals shouldn’t worry Jürgen Klopp’s men too much though and they will still be confident going into Wednesday night’s game. Liverpool do have some injury worries, with Andy Robertson still unsure, Mo Salah likely to start on the bench again and doubts over James Milner and Joel Matip. Despite the Reds definitely not being at their unstoppable best at the moment, the title is still on its way to Anfield, it’s just a question of when.
Palace still harbour European hopes
Despite being in 9th place, Palace aren’t simply playing for pride and to finish the season on a high, as club captain Luka Milivojevic insists that European football next season is still a possibility. He isn’t far wrong either. Following their 2-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday, Palace are level on point with Spurs, just 2 points behind 7th place and just 4 points off of 5th and 6th place Man United and Wolves – so a surprise win at Anfield could be huge for Palace. A loss for Roy Hodgson’s side at Anfield would all but see their European hopes evaporate though.
Liverpool have won their last 5 meetings against Palace, however all but one of those 5 wins have been by just a single goal, including last season’s 4-3 thriller at Anfield. What Red’s fans may be most wary of, is their visit to Palace back in 2014, when they surrendered a 3-0 away lead, and ultimately the title against Crystal Palace. The best Palace can do against them this time round, however, is delay the title party rather than spoil it. Surprisingly, Palace go into this game in better form, having won their last 4 matches on the bounce.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Based on our analysis of all of the information above, we’re predicting a hard fought, slender win for Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool in this midweek bout.
Liverpool to keep Anfield a Fortress
Despite their shaky form before the enforced break and their drab showing against Everton on Sunday, we still expect Klopp’s men to keep their unbeaten run at Anfield going. The Red’s haven’t been beaten in the League at Anfield since April 2017 and while Hodgson’s Palace will no doubt give them a good go, we can’t see them triumphing over the Reds on their own patch, even in front of an empty Kopp.
Palace have scored in 3 of their last 5 games against Liverpool and we would back them to find the net against the Reds again on Wednesday night, with Jordan Ayew, Luka Milivojevic and Wilfred Zaha all possessing the potential to find the net.
Our betting tip for this match is a Liverpool win + both teams to score which you can place on odds of 3.4 with Betway. Our exact score prediction is 2-1 to Liverpool.
