Reds to keep perfect start alive
So far this season, the reigning Champions have won their opening two Premier League games and dispatched Lincoln City from the EFL Cup. Their opening game against Leeds was a 7 goal thriller that Liverpool won 4-3, but saw rare defensive mistakes from Virgil van Dijk. They regrouped to hold on for a clean sheet against Chelsea, and were by far the better team in their 2-0 victory. However, Klopp’s men arguably did get the rub of the green on Sunday. Chelsea had to play the entire 2nd half with ten men, missed a penalty and a goalkeeping error gifted Sadio Mane his 2nd goal of the game.
Arsenal improving under Arteta
There can be no doubt in the minds of Premier League tips & betting experts that Arsenal are no longer a team that can easily be written off ahead of such a fixture. The tail end of last season showed the real early signs of Arteta’s work, as they won 8 of their last 11 games after the enforced break. This included a league triumph over Liverpool, a solid semi final win over Manchester City and an FA Cup final win over Chelsea. So far this season they have won the Community Shield, both of their opening PL games and knocked Leicester out of the EFL Cup.
Arsenal have won their last two meetings against Liverpool. The Gunners won the Community Shield on penalties against the Reds at Wembley last month and beat them at home in the League back in July. However, Arsenal’s recent record at Anfield makes for far less flattering reading. In their last 4 trips to Anfield, they’ve lost 3-1 twice, with a 5-1 and 4-0 loss to add. That being said, this is the first time Arteta will be taking his mentally improved Arsenal side to merseyside. Therefore we can’t right them off as easily in our Premier league predictions today.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Anfield to remain a fortress
Arteta’s Arsenal may have beaten Liverpool twice in very recent memory. However the chances of them making it 3 on the bounce against the Champions do look slim. Even when playing in front of an empty Kopp, Liverpool have managed to keep Anfield an impenetrable fortress. They’re now undefeated at home in the Premier League for 3 years, 5 months and counting. Arsenal are certainly capable of scoring goals, and Liverpool are prone to shipping them. However the likelihood is that Klopp’s boys will find a way of out-scoring their North London opponents.
Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino has scored 8 times against the Gunners, and with new signing likely to start, he could expect some good service on Monday. Therefore our betting tip comes courtesy of Paddy Power, who are offering odds of 2.98 to back a Reds win with Bobby to score anytime.
