We’ve missed football but more importantly we’ve missed giving you our expert Scottish Premier League predictions every week. All of our Scotland Premiership predictions are painstakingly prepared using extensive analysis of facts, figures and past results. With that in mind, here’s how we see Sunday’s contest turning out.
When the SPFL was brought to a close early back in March, Kilmarnock were sitting in eighth place. This represented an almighty collapse from the prior campaign when they remarkably managed to defy the odds and finish third, earning a Europa League spot in the process. What’s even worse for Killie is that they are currently on a torrid run of form. At the end of the 2019/2020 season, they did not win any of their last five games in all competitions and this dry patch continued with a 2-1 loss to Hibernian last time out. Pressure is mounting on manager Alex Dyer.
Celtic on Track for 10 in a Row
It is impossible to talk about the 2020/2021 SPFL season without referencing the fact that Celtic are going for an unprecedented 10 titles in a row. The Hoops pre-season campaign left some fans slightly worried about whether they would complete the feat, as they failed to win any games during their trip to France. However, Neil Lennon’s side made a perfect start to putting these fears to bed by threshing Hamilton 5-1 on Sunday. Star striker Odsonne Edouard bagged a sublime hat trick as Celtic ran riot, taking 25 shots and restricting their opponents to just seven. The Old Firm giants will take some stopping this season.
Unsurprisingly, Celtic have completely dominated this fixture over the years. In 239 meetings in all competitions, the Hoops have won 162 games to Kilmarnock’s 30, while 47 contests have ended in a draw. There has been little evidence in recent fixtures that this one-sidedness will change any time soon. Celtic have won the last six meetings in all competitions and have put three goals past Killie in each of their last three encounters. The Bhoys also subjected their opponents on Sunday to humiliating 5-1 and 6-1 defears in 2018 and 2016 respectively.

Our Betting Tip for Today
As much as we’d love to see Kilmarnock spring an upset, it is impossible to look past Celtic. We’ve tipped that the champions will not only win, but win comfortably.
A Straightforward Victory for the Hoops
With Celtic fired up by pursuing a record tenth straight title and Kilmarnock looking poor, funour Scottish Premier League prediction is for Neil Lennon’s side to take all three points back to Glasgow on Sunday. As this seems such a foregone conclusion, the best odds on a Bhoys win are a pitiful 1.3.
A better value bet would be to include over 3.5 goals. This is a smart move as well, considering Celtic have won the last three meetings 3-1 and also thrashed Killie on several other occasions recently. Fun88 are offering this double at odds of 2.40. To add even more value to your betting slip, it is worth considering adding the in-form Edouard to score first, which can be found at Grosvenor for 3.55. The Frenchman will be desperate to impress as several Premier League clubs continue to monitor his progress.
