For our FA Cup predictions today, we’re looking at a North West derby sequel, as Manchester United host Liverpool, exactly one week after they sides squared off in a Premier League stalemate. Is another underwhelming contest on the cards? Our Premier League tips, betting info and predictions follow below.
Manchester United chasing Cup Derby Redemption
This is the second cup derby this month for Manchester United, as they lost 2-0 to rivals Manchester City in the EFL Cup semi final on January 6. The loss against City was a blip in an otherwise impressive run, as the Red Devils are unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League fixtures, which could have a bearing on our FA Cup predictions. The resurgence of Luke Shaw under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has helped them massively at the back. There have been questions raised about starman Bruno Fernades’ performances in big games, however after another poor showing last Sunday.
Liverpool on worst run since 2017
FA Cup predictions never look good for the Reds under Klopp, as they have never made it past the 5th round since the German took charge. That’s not helped by the fact that they’ve failed to win in four Premier League games for the first time since 2017. Goals are the big problem, with the Red having scored just two in their last four league games. This is being put down to a dip in form for their front three. However the defensive injury list and Matip’s lack of fitness have resulted in Ternt and Robbo having less license to push forward.
These sides last met in the Premier League on Sunday, in a drab 0-0 draw that jow means the spoils have been shared in three of their last four meetings – with two of those ending in a stalemate. It’s a high profile derby that has failed to live up to the hype in recent season, as Ole tends to opt for a pragmatic approach knowing that Liverpool have better quality on a paper. Arguably, Liverpool were their for the taking on Sunday but United seemed to afraid to roll the dice. Our FA Cup predictions point to another close contest.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information, our FA Cup predictions today point to a Manchester United win on Sunday.
Ole to Grab First Derby Win
History and stats all point to a draw after the 90 mins or a Liverpool win on Sunday, given that Ole is without a win against Liverpool as United manager. However, their Premier League meeting last Sunday showed that Liverpool don’t look likely to rediscover their goal scoring form against a side as rigidly set up as Manchester United. Cup records don’t favour Liverpool either, so its perhaps not surprising that United go into this game as slight favourites for the first time in a years. We do foresee another underwhelming match that fails to live up to the media hype surrounding the build up. However we do see it being decided within 90 minutes and we do see united coming out on top, keeping a clean sheet in the process. We’re therefor backing a United win by one goal at odds of 4.33 with Bet365.
