For our FA Cup predictions today, we’re focussing on the crunch tie between Chelsea and Manchester City at Wembley. For City, the Quadruple is alive, meanwhile Chelsea could still do a domestic and European knock out double. See what the experts thing with our FA Cup tips, betting info and predictions.
Chelsea Suffer Second Loss Under TuchelThe unbeaten start to the Tuchel Era ended in unlikely circumstances a few weeks back, with a shock home defeat to West Brom in the Premier League. They suffered their second loss – also at home – to Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday night. They still progressed through to the semi of the competition though having beaten Porto 2-0 in the first leg. Tuchel still has a largely fully fit squad to choose from, so we’re definitely not writing them off with our FA Cup predictions. Mason Mount continues to impress.
City Take One Step Closer to the QuadrupleManchester City took another step towards the unprecedented quadruple on Wednesday night, knocking Borussia Dortmund out of the Champions League. For the second time on the trott, on-fire youngster Phil Foden was the match winner. This now means that Manchester City have the league almost tied up, two semi finals and a cup final to look forward to over the coming few weeks. Our FA Cup predictions don’t necessarily have City in the final of this competition just yet though. Last weekend’s shock defeat to a ten man Leeds have shown that there are frailties to be exploited there.
This will be Pep’s first meeting with Chelsea since Tuchel took charge, with the last meeting being a 3-1 home loss for Chelsea. It was a game that was to be among Frank Lampard’s last games in charge sat Stamford Bridge. Frank did manage to get one over on Pep during project restart, but other than that, the recent head to head record favours City. Tuchel and Pep Guardiola both know each other from their time in the Bundesliga, however Pep is unbeaten against his rival, with 5 wins and one draw over the fromer Mainz and Dortmund man.
Below we’ve proved you with the last five results between Chelsea and Manchester City as well as three statistical Highlights. We’ve used all of this information and more in order to bring you our FA Cup predictions weekend here at Betastic.
For our FA Cup predictions today, we’re projecting a Manchester City win, to make it two domestic finals this season.
Man City to Reach Second Domestic Cup FinalBoth sides managed to progress to the semi finals of the Champions League in the midweek. However Manchester City were far more emphatic in coming from behind to beat Dortmund 2-1 in Germany. Chelsea meanwhile, sneaked through thanks to a 1-0 home defeat to Porto meaning they progressed 2-1 on aggregate.
City are a well-oiled machine, but the genius of Beilsa and Leeds proved there are chinks in the armour. Tuchel is a masterful tactician and with Mount, Pulisic and co has the fire power up top to cause City problems. We expect though, that while Chelsea will take a tactful approach, and will likely score, City will have enough to just about get the job done as they usually do. Therefore our betting tip for today is a man City win plus both teams to score at odds of 3.75 with Bet365.
