For our FA Cup predictions today, we’re focussing on Stamford Bridge, where Tuchel’s undefeated Chelsea host struggling Sheffield United. As always, our team of stat man experts are ready to bring you the very best FA Cup tips, predictions and more.
Chelsea Remain Undefeated Under Tuchel
Our FA Cup predictions look good for Chelsea in this round. After beating Atheltico Madrid 2-0 in the CHampions League midweek, Chelsea remain undefeated since Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard and are fighting on three fronts – with top four, the FA Cup and the Champions League all still alive. Despite still struggling to find the net, Timo Werner’s performances have undoubtedly improved in recent weeks, and old hands like Kante and Azpilicueta have stepped back up to their best. Thiago SIlva and Tammy Abraham were unavailable for their midweek match and will likely still be out for this one.
Hard Times Ahead for Blades
The somewhat surprising of boyhood fan, former player and miracle working manager Chris Wilder largely hasn’t gone down well with Blades fans. It also seems it hasn’t worked out well for the players, as SHeffield United crashed to a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester. Although they have been relegation bound for a while now, their tendency had previously been to lose games narrowly, going down with a fight. Interim manager will really need to pull something out the back if his side are to defy most people’s FA Cup predictions, which see them crashing out of the competition at Stamford Bridge this Sunday.
Chelsea have won their last two games against Sheffield United, including a 2-1 away win at Bramall Lane last month, which was among Tuchel’s first games in charge. That performance was typical of Wilder’s resilient Chelsea who had always been going down with a fight in their games. What we could see this Sunday, is a repeat of their League tie at Stamford Bridge back in November, which was a more comfortable 4-1 win for the Blues. The Blades have beaten Chelsea recently though, with a 3-0 win over Lampard’s side in July during Project Restart.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information, our FA Cup predictions today foresee nothing other than a comfortable home win for the Blues.
Chelsea to Progress with Ease
Had Chris Wilder still been in charge, we could have foreseen this perhaps being more of a contest, perhaps with Sheffield United grabbing a goal in the process. However, their first performance under Paul Heckingbottom was completely toothless, and we can’t see the players being properly up for this one. Given Tuchel’s rigid organisation, a Chelsea clean sheet is more or less a foregone conclusion. The only thing left to predict, is how many goal Chelsea will score. Throughout their unbeaten run under Tuchel, Chelsea haven’t scored more than two goals in a single game. Given the apparent ease of this tie, we can likely expect a much-changed side from Wednesday’s Champions League win. Our tip for this game is therefore a Chelsea win by two goals at odds of 4 with Bet365. With his performances growing, but with goals not yet coming, this could be a good chance for Werner to find the net.
